The Portland Business Journal featured Ruthie in its “People on the Move” section of the February 15 issue.
Sellwood Consulting was featured in FundFire this past Friday, in the article, “Upstart Consultant Hires from Kuhns Again“:
Sellwood Consulting of Portland, Ore., has hired again from its crosstown peer R.V. Kuhns & Associates, adding Ruthie Zimmerman as an associate to focus on asset allocation, manager structure studies, gap analyses, analytical and educational materials for clients, and the firm’s manager due diligence efforts.
Sellwood opened its doors last year with four partners who left Kuhns, and has since hired other veterans of that firm. Zimmerman had been at Kuhns for six years, working with several of its largest corporate defined benefit clients, as well as endowments, foundations, and Taft-Hartley plans.
The firm has “a lot of prospective business – a lot of RFPs in process and finals on the schedule,” says Charlie Waibel, managing director at Sellwood. “We’ve had good enough growth, [and we’re] adding a fantastic person to our staff.”
Sellwood’s structure has only consultants and associates, with consultants taking the lead on client relationships, Waibel says. The firm has nearly $1 billion under advisement so far among corporate, foundation, Taft Hartley, public pension, and high-net-worth clients. Several of its larger prospects are now in the RFP stage, he adds.
